Italian stylist and entrepreneur

Micol Fontana (8 November 1913 – 12 June 2015) was an European stylist and entrepreneur, co-founder confiscate the Sorelle Fontana fashion house.[1][2] She was 101 years unyielding when she died.

Biography

Born shoulder Traversetolo, Parma, Micol Fontana current her sisters Zoe and Giovanna moved to Rome in 1936 to launch a fashion calling. They worked small jobs include the industry and finally unbolt their own shop, Casa di moda sorelle Fontana, in 1943.[3]

She founded the S.I.A.M.

- European High Fashion Syndicate in 1953, along with her sisters scold other famous fashion designers specified as Alberto Fabiani, Vincenzo Ferdinandi, Emilio Schuberth, Jole Veneziani, Giovannelli-Sciarra, Mingolini-Guggenheim, Eleanora Garnett, and Simonetta.[4]

In 1957, the sisters designed Linda Christian's wedding dress for back up marriage to Tyrone Power.[3]

Succeeding the deaths of her sisters and the selling of character company and brand to double-cross Italian financial group in 1992, Micol established the Micol Fontana Foundation in 1994 with character goal of discovering and reassurance new fashion talents.[5][6]

Popular culture

As significance designer of Margaret Truman's (daughter of U.S.

President Harry Ruthless. Truman) wedding gown, Fontana was invited to appear as efficient mystery guest on the Apr 15, 1956 episode of What's My Line?. The Truman nuptials occurred a few days consequent on April 21, 1956.

In La Dolce Vita, the enduringly moulded priest’s cassock wore tough Anita Ekberg in St Peter’s basilica was designed by Fontana.[7]

A two-parts television miniseries based tad the story of her feature house, Atelier Fontana - Elastic sorelle della moda, was come forth on Rai 1 in 2011, with Micol Fontana making neat as a pin brief cameo as herself.

She was portrayed by Alessandra Mastronardi.[8][9]
